How to Play

ArrowShift is a path-escape puzzle. Clear every arrow from the board by tapping only when each tip has a free lane to the edge. Plan the order, protect your hearts, and chase clean three-star clears.

THE CORE RULE

One rule drives every board — from tutorials to dense silhouette bosses.

Tip path must be clear

An arrow can leave the board only when the straight lane from its tip to the board edge is empty. If anything sits directly ahead of the tip, that tap is blocked and costs a heart.

  • The exit direction is the way the arrowhead points.
  • Bent arrows still exit along the tip lane — not along the whole body.
  • Side neighbors do not block a bent arrow; only cells ahead of the tip matter.

STEP-BY-STEP

A simple loop you will use on every level.

Scan the board

Look for tips that already face an open path to the edge. Those are your first safe moves.

Preview the exit

Press or hover an arrow to preview its exit lane when the game offers preview. Confirm the tip path before you commit.

Tap clear arrows

Clear open arrows to untangle the ones behind them. Order matters more than speed on dense boards.

Repeat until empty

Keep freeing blocked tips until every arrow is gone. A full clear finishes the level and awards stars based on how cleanly you played.

HEARTS, HINTS & ZOOM

Tools that keep tough boards fair without spoiling the puzzle.

Hearts

You start each level with three hearts. A blocked tap spends one. Lose all three and the board fails — restart for a fresh attempt, or recover with a rewarded ad or gems when those options appear.

Hints

A hint highlights a safe arrow you can clear next. Use them on brutal silhouettes, then buy more from the hint counter when your stock runs low. After spending a hint, clear any successful arrow before the next hint unlocks.

Zoom & pan

Pinch to zoom and drag to pan across large boards. Zoom gestures do not count as arrow taps, so you can inspect tangled paths without risking a heart.

Restart

Use Restart in the top bar anytime for a clean board and three new hearts on the same level. Progress on that attempt resets; your journey unlock stays.

JOURNEY, DAILY & REWARDS

How ArrowShift keeps the challenge fresh after you learn the rule.

Level journey

Levels 1–5 teach the basics on small boards. After that, boards pack longer bent arrows into recognizable silhouettes. Every fifth level after the tutorials is a denser themed boss.

Daily challenges

Each calendar day unlocks a unique seeded puzzle. Come back for Day 1, Day 2, Day 3… and build streaks that reward consistency.

Stars & gems

Clean clears earn better stars and more gems. Spend gems on hints, claim milestone bonuses in your rewards archive, and track how far your journey has reached.

TIPS & COMMON MISTAKES

Small habits that save hearts on late-game boards.

Do this

  • Clear outer tips first — they often unlock whole chains inward.
  • On dense boards, zoom in before tapping near overlapping arrows.
  • Save hints for moments with no obvious safe move, not the first tough-looking arrow.
  • If you burn two hearts early, restart and plan a cleaner first sequence.

Avoid this

  • Tapping the body of an arrow without checking where the tip points.
  • Assuming a side neighbor blocks a bent tip — only the tip lane matters.
  • Rushing mid-board when several tips look open; one wrong order can trap the rest.
